Summary
Eventually at the urging of Kyon a guy who sits in front of her she creates her own club called the SOS Brigade (short for Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade). She not only drags Kyon into it, but also select other members of the school. What she doesn't realise, but what Kyon later discovers, is that she has the unique ability to alter the world around her according to her wants. She has already unwittingly created the very things she has been looking for... As soon as Haruhi starts to become unsatisfied with the world, it becomes dangerous - everyone can become unmade according to her will! Kyon appears to be the key to stopping her from changing things as he's the first person she's ever reached out to who is 100% ordinary human and must therefore be a special person to her... The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is odd in that it was initially broadcast out of order so that episodes didn't follow on from each other chronologically, which I dislike, so I deliberately watched them in chronological order!! This means my first impression is probably biased in some way... but I thought it was good and hopefully it would still be just as appealing watched the other way!!! I really liked the interaction between Haruhi and Kyon, especially when they first meet!!

anime unsurprisingly revolves around a character called Suzumiya Haruhi, a
girl determinedly focused on the strange and abnormal. She has no interest
in ordinary humans only aliens, time travellers and espers etc. and joins
many a club only to leave shortly after as soon as she's bored.
