Kagome
is your ordinary 15 year old Japanese school girl. Her family own a shrine
and her grandfather has just bought in some 'Sacred Jewel' trinkets to
sell... Kagome then finds herself pulled into the well on their shrine,
and pursued by a Centipede Youma (demon). She is chased through a forest
where she comes across Inuyasha, a half-demon sealed in sleep to a tree by
an arrow in his shoulder. Somehow Kagome's appearance wakes him and he
calls her 'Kikyo' and also says she has the smell of the woman who sealed
him. Kagome sets him straight about who she is, but when attacked by the
Centipede demon again the real 'Sacred Jewel' is released from her body.
In order to survive Kagome agrees to free Inuyasha from the tree and he
kills the Centipede demon. But Inuyasha is no saviour, as he demonstrates
by trying to steal the Sacred Jewel. His only motive is to obtain the
jewel so he can become a fully-formed demon! Unfortunately the jewel gets
stolen by another and through a freakish accident is splintered into
thousands of shards and scattered throughout the land. Inuyasha finds
himself having to team up with Kagome, who can sense the Sacred Jewel
shards in order to collect them all before they can wreak untold havoc
through the land. Inuyasha of course is in it for his own gain... or is
he?! Perhaps some fluffy bunny sweetness hides beneath his rough
exterior??
