Getbackers Anime Summary
Getbackers has some hilarious eps!! Basically there are the two main characters; Amano Ginji former Lightning Emperor of Infinity Fortress (a kind of huge mountain town in the middle of Tokyo) and Midou Ban inheritor of 'Jagan' (or the Evil Eye) and master of 'Snakebite' a kickass martial arts technique. Together they form the Getbackers, a duo capable of stealing back anything; having a 100% success rate. The series is for the most part episodic with an individual 'getbacking' job per episode, where each of the duo get to show of a little of their cool powers, but there are also a couple of story arcs. In one they must infiltrate Infinity Fortress along with some pals to steal back IL (a component for a Nuclear bomb) and they have to fight off foes that for the most part were former friends of Ginji's who went weird as soon as Ginji left the fortress to become a Getbacker! The anime is a little slow in places. I had high hopes for a spectacular ending, but it was a little anti-climatic. My favourite episodes were during the arc I mentioned above (less than halfway through the whole series... I would definitely recommend a viewing simply so you can laugh over Ginji's hilarious chibi antics!!!
