Fullmoon Wo Sagashite Anime Summary
Mitsuki Koyama is 12-years old and dreams of becoming a singer. She had decided on this dream when she was 10 years old and met Eichi Sakurai, a 16-year-old boy, in an orphanage. When he was adopted and moved to America they promised each other they will reach their dreams and see each other again. Eichi told Mitsuki he loved her but Mitsuki was unable to let Eichi know how she felt. Soon afterwards Mitsuki went to live with her grandmother. Mitsuki developed a form of throat cancer that will not allow the use of her singing voice. There is only one surgery available that will cure her and it involves removing her vocal chords and any hopes of singing. One day two shinigami, named Negi Ramen, visit her and accidentally let her know she has only one year left to live. Realizing she have little time left she becomes intent on reaching her goal of become a singer and rushes to an addition. Unfortunately she is too young to audition. Mitsuki makes a deal with the male shinigami, Takuto, that she will follow them in a year if he helps her. He uses his power to transform Mitsuki into a healthy 16 year old in order to sing. Mitsuki wins over the judges with her enthusiasm and excellent voice and gets a contract. Mitsuki uses the stage name Full Moon in order to hide her true identity. She hopes that her songs will reach Eichi in America so she may see him again. The series follows Mitsuki as a new up and coming pop idol with the shinigami close by. Within that time Takuto realizes he loves Mitsuki and decides he will not allow Mitsuki to die when her time is up. His partner, Meroko, follows his choice even when it might mean sacrificing themselves.
